NATIONAL TOP OF PRIVATE COMPANIES IN ROMANIA - TOP 2009

On November 5th, 2010, at Parliaments Palace, Al. I. Cuza hall, National Council of Small and Medium Sized Private Enterprises in Romania (CNIPMMR) in collaboration with Agency for Implementation of Projects and Programmes for SMEs (AIPPIMM) organised the 18th edition of the NATIONAL TOP OF PRIVATE COMPANIES IN ROMANIA - TOP 2009. The official partner of the event was Authorised Accountants and Chartered Accountants Corps in Romania (CECCAR), and main partner was BRD Groupe Societe Generale.


The event was attended by Mr. Georg Toifl, president of the European Association of Craft, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises and by over 900 entrepreneurs.

The rankings were established based on data obtained from Trade Register Office and Public Finance Ministry concerning the financial results of the companies, stated in the balance sheet on December 31st, 2009. Just like previous years, several types of rankings were established, by gross profit descending order, as follows:

  • General Rankings by 4 category sizes – at national level – first 500 companies as well as newly set-up companies in the past 3 years – taking into account gross profit at county level – first 50 companies in each county and by each category size, and as well companies set-up in the past 3 years – taking into account gross profit
  • Rankings by fields of activity (according to NACE Rev. 2 code of four digits) – first 50 companies by each field of activity for companies more than 3 years old and as well first 10 companies by each field of activity for companies set-up in the past 3 years taking into account gross profit and turnover.
  • Awards for “Women Manager” and “Young Entrepreneurs”;
  • Special Awards at national level;
  • Prizes for mass – media;
  • Prizes and trophies for Business Excellence.

Award ceremony for the best performance enterprises was preceded, starting with 09:15 a.m., also inside Parliaments Palace, Human Rights hall, by Round Table on “Structural Funds Absorption Modalities” attended by:

  • Representatives of the institutions with attributions in the field – MASOPHRD, OSP IEC, OSP Environment, RIO SOPHRD, National Fund for Guaranteeing Credit for SMEs, Romanian Counter guarantee Fund, CEC Bank;
  • Representatives of the European Association of Craft, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (UEAPME) and General Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises in France (CGPME);
  • Representatives of the social partners – employers’ and trade unions’ organisations representative at national level;
  • SMEs representatives.

Among the personalities that spoke during the award ceremony for the entrepreneurs inside the 18th edition of National Top of Private Companies in Romania were:

          On the occasion of this edition of the National Top of Private Companies in Romania, National Council of Small and Medium Sized Private Enterprises in Romania (CNIPMMR) performed a large consultation of the entrepreneurs took place, aiming at establishing the 10 major priorities of the business environment for year 2011. The consultation consisted of a referendum among event attendants, representing the best performance enterprises in Romania, among www.immromania.ro portal members, the number of total respondents amounting to 257 enterprises that highlighted the following 5 priorities for the business environment:

  • stimulating investments by improving state aid schemes, by accomplishment of the infrastructure works and development of private-public partnership
  • simplification of the procedures and acceleration of structural funds absorption
  • taxation reduction, especially concerning workforce
  • increase SMEs access to finance, just like the situation in the EU
  • elimination of state arrears and fighting late payments of the public authorities and institutions towards commercial societies.
